Bijan Farhoodi is an experienced Iranian‑born journalist and broadcaster based in London, best known for his long tenure at Voice of America’s Persian service (VOA) where he began in April 1980. Over decades, he covered significant international events—spanning politics, sports, and economics—and in December 2002, played a key role in founding and naming Radio Farda, VOA’s Persian-language station. Educated in business management at George Mason University, he later served as a senior editor and hosted a weekly show until budget cuts led to his retirement in 2013. Since then, Farhoodi has continued his media career as an independent journalist, producing interviews and audiovisual content for his YouTube channel and freelance outlets
