Afshin Nariman is an Iranian-American filmmaker, journalist, and satirist based in Washington, D.C. He is best known for creating and hosting Upozit, a weekly Persian-language political satire show that critiques Iranian politics and exposes the contradictions of the Islamic Republic. Nariman has also contributed to the documentary I Am Neda (2012), which chronicles the life and tragic death of Neda Agha-Soltan, a symbol of the 2009 Iranian Green Movement. Through his work, Nariman offers a critical perspective on Iranian society and politics, blending investigative journalism with sharp humor.
