Shahram Homayoun is an Iranian-American political dissident, journalist, and founder of Channel One TV, a Los Angeles-based Persian-language satellite network that broadcasts pro-democracy content into Iran. Born in Iran, he fled to the U.S. in 1991 due to his opposition to the Islamic Republic. In exile, he became a prominent voice for Iranian human rights, supporting the 2009 Green Movement and launching the “Ma Hastim” (“We Exist”) campaign, which inspired widespread civil resistance in Iran. Despite an Interpol arrest warrant issued by Tehran, the FBI has assured him of safety in the U.S. Homayoun remains a leading figure in the Iranian diaspora’s efforts to promote secularism, nationalism, and regime change
