Alireza Nourizadeh, born on June 24, 1949, in Tehran, is a journalist, and political activist. After fleeing Iran, he obtained a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of London. Nourizadeh has been active in Iranian journalism since 1967, serving as editor for the pro-Shah newspaper Ettela’at. He is a monarchist and has been a vocal critic of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Currently, he serves as a senior researcher and director at the Centre for Arab & Iranian Studies. Nourizadeh contributes to various media outlets, including Deutsche Welle and Voice of America, and writes for the London-based Saudi-owned newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat. He is also the father of director Nima Nourizadeh and electronic music producers Omid 16B and Navid.
