Shahram Homayoun is known as an Iranian political activist and the founder of Channel One, a Persian-language television network based in Los Angeles that broadcasts daily programs to audiences inside Iran. He left Iran in 1991 and settled in the United States after facing pressure for supporting democratic values and human rights.

Before leaving Iran, Homayoun worked extensively in journalism. His professional roles included serving as Editor of Hamkari Magazine, Editor of Kargaran Magazine, and Associate Editor of the newspaper Bamdad. Over the years, he conducted interviews with several well-known political and religious figures from Iran and the Middle East, including Yasser Arafat, Sadegh Ghotbzadeh, Ayatollah Shariatmadari, and others.

In Los Angeles, he established a 24-hour Persian television channel designed to cover news, political developments, and social issues related to Iran. Homayoun later introduced the Ma Hastim movement, described by analysts and observers as having influence among segments of the Iranian public. The movement became particularly visible during major protests, and Homayoun’s media work played a role in reporting events and reactions from Iran to international audiences.

During the 2009 Green Movement, Homayoun and other organizations in Los Angeles coordinated public demonstrations and provided media coverage that helped bring attention to events taking place inside Iran. In recent years, supporters of the Ma Hastim movement established a symbolic memorial site in New York City dedicated to Iranian protesters and political activists who lost their lives.

Homayoun advocates for Iranian national identity, supports the historic Lion and Sun flag, and promotes international pressure on the Iranian government. His position encourages diplomatic and economic consequences for Iranian authorities and calls for global measures similar to those once taken against apartheid-era South Africa.
