Sima Sabet is an Iranian journalist and former television anchor known for her work with Iran International and BBC Persian, where she covered critical issues related to Iranian politics and society. Born in November 1972 in Zahedan, Iran, she holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Exeter and an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Sabet has faced significant threats due to her journalism, including reported assassination attempts by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), prompting her to relocate for safety. She is also recognized as a restaurateur and has been an advocate for press freedom in Iran.
